**Interdisciplinary study of cultural change and diversity**

We are a highly interdisciplinary group of researchers using evolutionary models to study cultural change and diversity. We apply cultural evolutionary methods to a wide variety of topics including cognition, innovation, social learning, technology, art, music, narrative, religion, sociality, language and communication. We have a growing interest in applying cultural evolutionary theory to current societal challenges such as understanding the spread of prosocial health behaviours and health conspiracies.

The field of cultural evolution is growing in size and scope; its theories, methods and applications - both academic and applied - are getting ever more robust. Do join us in what promises to be an exciting exchange of ideas and a celebration of our field.

Welcome to the Capstone Conference of the [CES Transformation Fund](https://ces-transformationfund.org/) which is a hybrid conference held at Durham University (UK). The conference celebrates the achievements of 22 awardees of the grant scheme. Together they are helping to build a richer and more diverse cultural evolution field, whilst catalysing the application of cultural evolution research to global human futures.

Over the 2 days, each funded [Research Project, Applied Working Group, and Seedcorn Project](https://ces-transformationfund.org/our-projects/) will present their research. A professional live scribe from [Nifty Fox Creative](https://www.niftyfoxcreative.com/) will create and showcase public communication illustrations for each presentation. On Thursday afternoon, there will be a workshop on generating societal impact from research, and in the evening there will be a ‘show and tell’ session with drinks reception (plus a dinner for awardees and invited others), while Friday wraps up with a discussion of future directions for the cultural evolution field.

The Capstone Conference of the CES Transformation Fund celebrates the achievements of 22 awardees of the grant scheme. Together they are helping to build a richer and more diverse cultural evolution field, whilst catalysing the application of cultural evolution research to global human futures.

#### U.S. Navy's Zero Trust Implementation Strategy

Join our September Virtual Series Tech Talk, featuring our very special guest speaker, Mr. David L. Voelker, Zero Trust Lead, from the Department of the Navy, Office of the Chief Information Officer (DON CIO), and learn about the U.S. Navy's Zero Trust Implementation Strategy.

The Department of the Navy Information Superiority Vision includes three core efforts to Modernize, Innovate, and Defend. The capstone design concept is defined by the goal to "Securely move information from anywhere to anywhere" with key criteria to field supporting capabilities that are Customer-Focused, Best-value Cost, Dynamic, and Confidence-Inspiring. The top-level supporting objectives are Optimize the DON Information Environment for Cloud, Adopt Enterprise Services, and Implement Zero Trust. The outcomes have improved Customer Experience and Operational Resilience; resulting in Information Superiority that continues to evolve to win the global naval fight.

#### About Company

Mandated by the Clinger Cohen Act of 1996, The Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) is the Military Department (MILDEP) CIO for the DON (Navy, Marine Corps, and the DON Secretariat) responsible for cybersecurity and IM/IT/IRM policy by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002 and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (also FISMA) of 2014. DON CIO is further directed by 10 U.S.C. § 2223 to review budget requests for all IT and national security systems acquired and operated by the Navy, and to ensure compliance with Department of Defense and federal standards with an enterprise approach seeking interoperability and efficiency.

Given these statutory oversight responsibilities, the DON CIO develops strategies, policies, architectures, standards and guidance, and provides process transformation support for the entire DON.

The 2024 American Medical Association Research Challenge includes a poster symposium hall and a semifinals hall with the top scored research. **Log in at any time throughout the event to:**

* **View posters and presentations** on a variety of topics and specialties
* **Score posters in the semifinals** to help decide the top five finalists (AMA member exclusive opportunity)
* **Connect with participants** and provide feedback to help advance their research

At the conclusion of this event, the AMA will announce the top five finalists who will advance to the AMA Research Challenge finals, present their research to an elite panel of judges, and compete to win a $10,000 grand prize presented by Laurel Road.
