SHORT BIO

"I have a PhD in Condensed Matter from University of Bayreuth (Germany). In addition to this field, I also have research experience in Physics Education. As a research associate at Rutgers University, in the Physics Education Research group of Prof. Eugenia Etkina and Prof. Alan Van Heuvelen, I participated in various research projects and in the revision of course and laboratory curriculums. Working as an Adjunct Professor at the Physics Department at Glendale Community College, I had an opportunity to gain experience in teaching a large class with a diverse student population. Later, I worked as a Lab Coordinator at the Physics Department at Occidental College (Los Angeles), developing, teaching and assessing a four-semester sequence of introductory laboratories for Physics and Engineering majors. I was able to create a consistent long-term ramp which helps students built up experimental skills and abilities over two years. The pedagogical approach was based on the PER methods that have proven to be a powerful tool for developing scientific abilities. At present I work as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Saint Mary’s College, teaching upper-division physics classes and introductory physics classes."
