SHORT BIO
Sunwoo Lee is a tenure-track assistant professor in Computer Engineering at Inha University. Before joining Inha, he used to work as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Southern California (USC), under the supervision of Prof. Salman Avestimehr in the viTAL Lab. He earned his Ph.D. in 2020 at Northwestern University. He was a member of CUCIS and advised by Prof. Alok Choudhary and Prof. Wei-keng Liao. Prior to that, he received his M.S. and B.S. in 2009, both at Hanyang University, South Korea. Before receiving his Ph.D., he worked as a system software researcher at Samsung Electronics, Memory Division. His research interests lie in the intersection of Machine Learning and High-Performance Computing. Specifically, he focuses on designing scalable Machine Learning algorithms that fully utilize the given hardware resources.
