# Welcome everyone to ACL 2022!

The 60th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics is taking place May 22-27, 2022 as a hybrid event, in Dublin and online. We are happy to welcome all of you to this anniversary edition with an almost 50-50 in-person and virtual participation. 
The main conference program features oral presentations, in-person and virtual posters and demo sessions, a plenary session for our best paper presentations and awards, three amazing keynote events and two new initiatives of invited talks: Spotlight Talks for Young Rising Stars (STIRS) and The Next Big Idea Talks. Posters (including Findings of ACL 2022) and demos are grouped by areas for both the in-person and the virtual sessions. For the virtual component, the talks will be on Zoom and the posters and the demos will be in GatherTown. The Student Research Workshop will have an oral session and a poster session as part of Poster Session 1. The program also features eight Tutorials and 28 Workshops.

The Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) is the premier international scientific and professional society for people working on computational problems involving human language, a field often referred to as either computational linguistics or natural language processing (NLP).

### Welcome!

Science is about curiosity, blossoming of promising and novel ideas, getting inspired and connecting to other people. The NRS wants to provide and promote this for their members. Unfortunately, the NRS was not able to organize physical meetings in the past year due to the corona pandemic, while there was/is huge pressure on pulmonologists and scientists working in respiratory medicine. Therefore, we have set-up a new series of monthly online events: NRS Webinar, where you can acquire the latest updates within the lung field, and easily (re)connect with fellow members in our digital NRS cafe. 
During the NRS Webinar both a senior speaker and a junior speaker from different institutes will present their work at the online platform; sufficient time has been scheduled for discussions with the audience, via the chat or live. Every month a different theme is presented, and the program has been set up such that translational, clinical and more fundamental research is presented allowing for cross-fertilization of different research areas, various respiratory diseases and the latest technology applied.

For more in-depth discussions or small talk to catch up with researchers on the other side of the country, the NRS webinar is followed by networking time in the virtual NRS caffé. This is a virtual area in which you can join people sitting at a table in small groups and catch up on each other’s business, research activities, plans and challenging new hypotheses. 

If you somehow miss the webinar, fortunately you can see the presentations later at a convenient time, as most presentations will be recorded and are accessible via the NRS website in the members area and here on Underline NRS page under the microphone icon/past sessions.
